ANAEROBIC DIGESTION OF BREWER’S SPENT GRAIN WITH BIOCHAR – BIOGAS PRODUCTION KINETICS AND PROCESS EFFICIENCY

Biochars made from brewer’s spent grain were added to the anaerobic digestion of enhance methane fermentation process and improve biogas production. In research, effect biochars at 300, 450, 600 °C doses 1-8% was tested. The biochemical potential tests in mesophilic conditions performed. took 28 days, yield for each reactor varied 500-650 ml×gVS-1, around 60% substrate degradation obtained. For test, kinetics parameters using first-order model determined. constant production rate (k), (r) 0.05-0.08 d−1, 42-60 ml×(gVS×d)−1 respectively. Though differences turned out be statistically insignificant (p<0.05) due high disappearance obtained data conflicting effects, response surface area analysis showed that biochar 450 share 1-4% could used maximize Nevertheless, supplementation with needs done carefully since many cases, a reduction observed
